THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION OF THE INTERNATIONAL CENTRE
FOR SHIPPING TRADE AND FINANCE
The Alumni Association of the Centre was initially launched in 1988 as a local branch (first branch outside UK) of the Centre's Alumni Association but has remained dormant for the past few years. The first president of the Alumni Association of the Centre was Mr. N. Triantafyllakis.
In December 2003, a new Board of Directors (BoD) was elected and set the following objectives for the Alumni Association:
- Establish an active network of alumni and alumnae in Greece and abroad
- Develop a centralised information and communication hub
- Strengthen the “one of us” identity
- Provide direction to graduates in their career development and job search
- Promote the Centre’s Programs and Research
- Nurture valuable insights on industry matters by fostering thought leadership
- Inspire younger alumni and alumnae through the accomplishments of more mature members
- Co-operate with the Centre in organising events, both locally and abroad
The BoD, which will serve the association for two years, currently consists of:
- Mr. Nikos Tsakos, TEN Ltd - President
- Mr. Christos Strapatsakis, Eurobank - Vice President
- Mr. Alexandros Tsirikos, Top Developments - Secretary
- Mr, Stamatis Tsantanis, Top Tankers - Treasurer
- Mr. Christoforos Dimakis, Aegean Baltic Bank - Member
- Mr. Dimitris Kostopoulos, Alpha Asset Management - Member
- Mr. Efstratios Paschalides, Vgenopoulos Law Offices - Member
The following have been elected reserve members:
- Mr. Nikos Berketis J. Kouroutis & Co, Insurance Agencies
- Ms. Marina Tzoutzouraki EFG Eurobank-Ergasias
- Mr. Dimitris Panagiotopoulos Omega Bank
The new BoD unanimously awarded Mr Triantafyllakis the title of Honorary President of the Alumni Association in recognition for his contribution.
